A focused tool by Our Niche Hub
Small jobs deserve useful tools.
Scanned photographs often come with extra files: the writing, date or dedication on the back. Only some photographs have a scanned back. Numbering every file in sequence breaks the connection; reversing a whole album can turn a simple rename into a spreadsheet or script.
PairSort makes that particular job easier. It groups matching front and back filenames, assigns one number to each photograph and lets you check the result before downloading unchanged copies. It is free to use and requires no account.
The starting point
The tool grew from a request about eight albums of photo scans: reverse the numbers, keep the _b sides attached, and do not let backs advance the counter. The person asking described exactly where ordinary sequential renaming fell short.
Our Niche Hub
Our Niche Hub is an independent project run by Beek. We make web tools for niche needs that existing tools do not fully serve. PairSort is one such focused tool; it does not require you to organise your whole archive in a new photo service.
Tell us what would make it more useful, or describe a different job you wish a tool could do. Email thefuture.bybeek@gmail.com. A short example of your filename pattern is often enough; you do not need to send personal photographs.
